I had a deck mounted tow but the design doesnt work so well for a quick tow
or for the scenario when you need to 'swim' the kayak in for a difficult rocky landing spot.
So I bought a waist tow and enhanced it so that if you need to convert a quick tow into a longer
duration tow it can be unbuckled and mounted on the deck tow hardware.
I've incorporated a length of bungee into the end of the tow with a spare end
to thread through the deck cleat.
So for a quick tow use as is, the bungee part of the line stays in the stuff sack.
For an extended tow, unbuckle and thread the spare end through the deck fairlead and cleat.
